Hope you don’t mind a man chiming in I worked with Coach Yow from her first season until 2000 as the play-by-play voice for many of the Wolfpack Women games on TV and radio. She made me feel like one of the family and that’s why I’m writing. During one of the ACC Tournaments in Fayetteville, she and I were talking at the hotel before the Pack played the 1pm game. My final comment to her was “don’t forget to come by after the game and talk.” Obviously I meant to talk on the post-game radio show. Immediately after the final horn, Coach Yow headed to the dressing room and never made it on the radio. Later in the day she asked how the broadcast went. “Fine, until you didn’t come by to talk after the game,” I said. After a moment, she apologetically replied, “Oh I didn’t know you meant a ‘professional’ talk!” At that moment I knew I really wasn’t a member of the media, but a member of the Wolfpack Women Family! Of course, Coach Yow makes everyone she talks to feel like a lifelong friend! My head will be bowed everyday at noon!
