Wolfpack Women SORORITY:
I have been so encouraged by the response from many of our Wolfpack Women Families. If you have something on your mind that you would like to say or share with our "sorority" now would be the perfect time to do so. Not only is it uplifting to know those ties between us (no matter how far scattered we are around the globe) are strong and solid, but for Coach Yow to know how much we're pulling together (via prayers and e-mail communication). This shows her how much we love her and are praying for her.
Ronnie's idea of praying at 12 noon everyday was an awesome idea. Thanks a million, Ronnie. At that time we're all "ONE" in quality prayer time with our Lord and Savior to lift up Coach Yow. He knows how much we all love Coach Yow and the positive influence she's had on all our lives. He listens....and He knows our hearts. He answers prayers.
I know Kristen Gillespie's role with the team has changed somewhat with the announcement. She has carried the torch to coordinate the Hoops for Hope weekend in February. This has been Coach Yow's initiative over the past 5 years to bring together the basketball community to carry the torch against cancer. More importantly, she has shown how to handle adversity with such grace, dignity and love for her Lord. Not many of you may have seen the mission statement Coach Yow created for her cause against cancer. I thought I'd share it with each of you below.
Mission Statement: The Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund, in partnership with The V Foundation, is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against cancer through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.
She was the initiator of the Hoops for Hope weekend. It has exploded around the country in a very short time. I'm sure she would be absolutely thrilled if each of her players attended this event in Raleigh. The weekend of February 14-15 is when NC State plays Virginia. What a most appropriate weekend (Valentine's Day) to show how much love and support we have for our Coach. Please make every effort to attend. Start planning to come now. Kristen will be following up with details. Let Coach Yow know you want to come to support her cause, her foundation to help beat this disease, but most of all to have all of the Wolfpack Women Sorority to come together in person to honor her.
I want to hear from all of my Wolfpack Women family. Please send e-mails as these have given me comfort and peace knowing we're all ONE family praying for our Coach. God bless each one of you.

Hello KAY PHI YOW! Welcome to our space! I was so moved today after reading all of the emails and listening to countless recollections of how Coach Yow has affected your lives and how much she means to you. I felt so inspired and so uplifted that I did not want it to end. I kept thinking there must be something I could do to keep us all connected and to keep this going. Of course there's always email, facebook and myspace but I thought this would be a really nice place for all of us to come and share stories and stay connected with each other. We really have something special Wolfpack Family and its all because of one person...to some she's a friend..to some she's a sister...to some she's a mother...but to all she's is an example and most importantly she is our leader. Your words were so candid and so special and I hope we can keep this going. I hope that you all will enjoy reading and sharing your thoughts as we once again come together as one family to lift the spirits of our leader of the pack (Coach Yow). Talisha Scates Class of 2002
