Hello KAY PHI YOW! Welcome to our space! I was so moved today after reading all of the emails and listening to countless recollections of how Coach Yow has affected your lives and how much she means to you. I felt so inspired and so uplifted that I did not want it to end. I kept thinking there must be something I could do to keep us all connected and to keep this going. Of course there's always email, facebook and myspace but I thought this would be a really nice place for all of us to come and share stories and stay connected with each other. We really have something special Wolfpack Family and its all because of one person...to some she's a friend..to some she's a sister...to some she's a mother...but to all she's is an example and most importantly she is our leader. Your words were so candid and so special and I hope we can keep this going. I hope that you all will enjoy reading and sharing your thoughts as we once again come together as one family to lift the spirits of our leader of the pack (Coach Yow). Talisha Scates Class of 2002

WOLFPACK WOMEN,
As one who was there from the start ('75), I can say, Coach Yow has influenced my life for many years and I hope I have impacted her life as well. She is special to all of us in so many ways. I remember the day she made a decision to follow Jesus Christ in the fall of 1975 and how she accepted the challenge to share that relationship with others and she has shared it around the world. Her influence is now going on to a second generation as she has impacted the life of my children as well as many of yours.
Great idea Ronnie and thanks T for the encouraging words. You are all right, we are all in this fight together. Don't stop with just "us" praying, ask others who know about Coach Yow to pray at noon, also. I have her on our prayer list at church, sent it out to our home school group, my parents' church, and others who know of the impact she has made on my life and on others. Today's (thurs) Burlington Times-News' main editorial is entitled "Kay Yow continues to show her grit in face of adversity". We must do the same.
I wear my pink wrist band every day even though it is almost white. I have a pink ribbon on my name tag at work and other reminders of her everywhere I go. When people ask me why, I tell them it is for my Mother, my sister, and Coach Yow (all breast cancer survivors)! We are truly a "family" and she is the main reason we are so close. As Connie said, make plans now to be in Raleigh the weekend of Feb. 14. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Love you all! GO PACK!
